Secondary school ¹43 by A.S. Pushkin of Yaroslavl city

On the vacant lot on B.Oktyabrskaya Street, former Rozhdestvenskaya st., the building of school ¹43 started. In 1937 the school opened its doors and started its work. The 1st director A. was Motorzhen .

The school has got the name of A. Pushkin in connecting with 100 years from the death of great poet.

The 5th school graduating ball was over and on the 22nd of June the Great Patriotic war began. The school director S. Kolobkov went to the front. Some of graduators such as A. Vinogradov, R. Deryabin, A. Ryabikov were taken to the Air Forces. B. Koshokhov entered Tula Armory-Technical College. The artillery-man Konyukhov fought in Stalingrad and finished the war in the military rank of the captain. There were many hardships during the war and not many of graduators could survive. However those who were lucky arrange meetings and keep their friendship even nowadays. During the War II hospitals (¹448, ¹5365) were housed in the school building. So the students had their classes in German church. In 1945 the new school year began in the building of the native school.

With school director YA. Solopov the school has become the base of Yaroslavl Teacher Training University. Teaching process has got a scientific grounds due to cooperation with Education Department with M. Askin ahead and with some teachers from Russian Language Department such as A.Sonkina, G. Melnichenko, A. Nikerov, with Z. Skopets, the professor of Maths. It was a period of school renovation when the new gym and physic classroom were built. The great job was done by the whole Collective of the school teachers: N. Gorizontova, Ye. Baranova, Yu. Ryazanova (Primory school); M. Krukovski, S. Kantor, Dmitrieva (maths); N. Yefremova, A. Kuzmina, A. Tritonova, Kolesnikova (Russian language); V. Maiotova, N. Bufetova (physic); H. Zubovich, B.Vetoshkin (chemistry); Ye. Mikhalyuk, T. Kolenkova (history), O. Davydycheva (geography).

At that time the school directors were V. Kukushkin ,R. Bochanova , L. Friman, B. Sokolov. The school arranges a great variety of concerts, amateur arts festivals for students, Pushkin parties. The teachers of literature always played the leading role in preparations. Noisy meeting of the lovers of music, disputes, musical parties were at great demand among the students of 60-s.

The school specializes in deep study of German. V.E. vase (methodologist, senior lecture of German language chair) has rendered great serves to this. Susheva T. K. led the methodical unit of teachers of German language. Methodical bases of specialize school were founded. During those years the school acquired many traditions, holiday of ABC- -book for beginners to study German, fairy-tales party for pupils of junior school. Children studied the creative works of German classics with great interest.

The first summer camp of work and rest was organize. It was situated in Karabiha in the building of old school. Children lived and worked like in commune with full responsibility and self-government. In the morning they worked in the field and in the evening they spent time on the river or in Necrasov park. Girls sang, pupil Ura Prosorov declaimed his poems.

The school directors were Uskov B. H., Kuzmichev V. I. and Dolkin L. H. The school took first places in the city by sport development. In the school full plead of excellent sportsmen grew up. In different years the masters of sports finished school :Skrebcov V., Doinichencov S., Chernishov O., Egorov O., Matcova T., Mahov S., Belyakova M., Baranov N. and others. From the first years of founding school pupils were fond of hiding, they went by native land, took part in district and region competitions.

Grozniy V.E. and Antonov E.V. organized category hiding by country. Children got over the rapids of rivers in Karelia, were in Ural and in Moldova ,got up on the vulcanos of Kamchatka, walk by mountain of Caucasus.

Tourist's traditions continued by teacher Komin N.K .He organized the geological hobby group. Children study base of geology, ecological and local lore works are conducted.

The school celebrate its 50 years anniversary. For this date teachers did a great work for organizing school museum, which material are filling in our days

Shegoleva M.P. and Kozina E.N. organized the first school holiday “Russian trades”. Another school tradition became to celebrate holiday “Svyatki” ,with fortune-telling, songs, maskers, round dances every year.

The first pedagogical class was organized . The pupils of pedagogical class conducted holidays “Pan-cake week”, holiday of “Slavonic culture and written language” for junior pupils.

Zharova T.S. became the school director. Thanks to her efforts and talent of organizer, the agreement about partner's connections with twin-city Kassel was signed in The first engineering class was organized on a base of Yaroslavl state technical university. Children prepare for their future profession of engineers, they deep study Maths, study in Polytechnic University, where lectures are conducted by teachers of university. School-leaving examinations are entrance examinations for these pupils. Many of pupil choose a profession of engineer and study on different faculties of the University.

One of the first in the country the school became participant of action of changing schoolchildren. The school partners are gymnasiums of Bonn, Vienna, Grats, Shibse (Austria). These contacts are important stimulus for studying German, and enriching children by knowledge about cultural life, customs and traditions of these countries. Pedagogical class became the class with historical bias. Teacher of University read lectures by different aspects of history. Children took part in historical competitions. In 1995, 1996 Kafidov S. and Kasilova A. were the winners in city scientific – practical conferences of schoolchildren, writing the first scientific works by history.

There was the first graduate of pupils of German philology class. Formerly the graduates of school with deep study of German were Razimova P. Y., Starshinova S.A., Tihonova O.N., Zhilina O.P. Today they are German teachers in our school and their today graduates are the students of faculty of foreign languages. Vice – director of school Loginova A.N. works very interesting, talented. Children take part in competitions, games were they must show their quick – wit, ingenuity, artistism, feeling of humor with great pleasure. 'Club of merry and quick – witted persons' is especially popular. We have cur team. It has its style, naughty a little. Kutsenko T. N. deserve it she works at school now, teaching the principles of artist skill. An intellectual game “Erudition” the school team ( Kutsenko M., Zeldina E., Piculina P., Kozlova A., Ryabinina M., ) took first place in city.

the school began to take part in international project of Soros fond “Debates” joint scientific work of senior pupils and teachers of school and Universities gives excellent results. During several years our pupils take part in scientific – practical conference and take first place.

our school became the winner in competition “School of a year”. Teachers Barinova E. V., Vasilenko E. V., Rulev S. I., became the laureates of competition “Teachers of a year”.
